San Francisco, CA
Southeast Community Center
Project Description
Located at 1550 Evans Avenue, the Southeast Community Center serves as a vital gathering place for the local community, offering opportunities for learning, play, and personal growth. A collaboration between the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and the southeast communities of San Francisco, the center aims to foster the health, cultural richness, education, and financial empowerment of residents in this region.
Among the many amenities offered at the Southeast Community Center are an expanded low-cost childcare center, nonprofit workspaces, community meeting rooms, large multi-purpose rooms, and a separate pavilion dedicated to community events, named after Alex Pitcher. In addition, there are ample open spaces, including an amphitheater, gardens, outdoor dining areas, and children's play areas. The center also provides a comprehensive range of social services to support workforce development and education, catering to residents of all ages in the Southeast community. Together with our SECC tenants and the Bayview community, we are thrilled to serve the community from our new home.
The HVAC system feature roof mounted energy recovery ventilators that provide heat recovery of exhaust and tempered ventilation to the facility. A variable refrigerant flow system recovers heat between spaces and provides local conditioning to thermal zones.
Advanced lighting controls increase efficiency when daylighting is sufficient or a space is not occupied.
